Manchester United consider Ronaldo chase

According to reports Manchester United are exploring the possibility of bringing Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club.

The Daily Mail claims United are currently assessing whether a multi-million pound deal would be feasible, suggesting a switch is not entirely out of the question.

Ferguson spoke about the possibility of Ronaldo returning to Old Trafford back in December. He said: "He may want to go to another club at some point and I’d hope he would want to come here."

"I’d love to see that but it’s fanciful thinking really. First of all, there’s how much it would take to get him from Real and, secondly, I don’t think there’s any chance they would want to sell him."

It now seems that United are tempted by a move for the forward, whose £80 million move to the Bernabeu in 2009 included a clause allowing United the first option on him.

Ronaldo returns to Old Trafford for the first time as Real take on United in the second leg of their last-16 Champions League clash.
