Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Anderson has earned a starting place for the clash with West Ham United this week.

Ferguson singled out the Brazilian midfielder as the key reason why they turned around a1-0 deficit against Queens Park Rangers to run out 3-1 winners at Old Trafford at the weekend.

"I thought Ando won the game for us,” he told MUTV.

"His performance was outstanding. He took the game by the scruff of the neck and he was so positive and determined in his play that he picks himself on Wednesday."
