According to reports Manchester United are pursuing Benfica star Axel Witsel.
O Jogo claims United and Real Madrid are battling it out for the midfielder.
It is believed that United have tabled an offer between €30 and €33 million for the Belgium international.
It is understood that Real's interest depends on whether Luka Modric can complete a move from Tottenham Hotspur.
