Former Manchester United Michael Owen has dropped a huge hint that he may call time on his career.
The 32-year-old was released by United after three years at Old Trafford and is currently without a club.
Stoke City are believed to be interested in taking on the former England international.
Owen said on Twitter last night: “If a good opportunity doesn’t come my way then so be it. At this stage of my career it has to be something that I’m going to enjoy doing.”
“Not being disrespectful when I say I wouldn’t play in the Championship,” he added.
“Always said I wouldn’t drop down the leagues like some.
“After Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle, United and England, I don’t think I’d enjoy that football.”
