Manchester United look set to miss out on Udinese midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah.

talkSPORT claims Juventus are ready to land him for around £12 million.

United are eager to overhaul their midfield this summer with as many as three acquisitions in the pipeline, of which Asamoah is a target.

Scouts have tracked his progress for over a year and he has been watched extensively throughout this season.

Ferguson is believed to be keen on the Ghana international and it is understood that United expressed their interest.

The Serie A side are ready to cash in on the 23-year-old this summer after becoming aware of his desire for a new challenge, having been at the club since 2009.

But it seems Juventus have edged ahead in the race, with talks between the two clubs scheduled for this week.
