Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic reckons the future is bright for the club.

United finished the season without a trophy, but the Serb reckons the quality of the players coming through the youth ranks will mean that aberration is not the signal of a growing trend at Old Trafford.

Vidic told manutd.com: "The young players did well and it was great experience for them this season. I think they managed really well but didn't have the luck in the end.

"I definitely believe we're going to be better next year. We want the trophy back. You have to remember we've had so much success in the past few years but generations have changed with new players.

"The club is looking to the future. We have to take some positives from this year. I believe next year will be a good year for the club and I believe we can win trophies again."
