Michael Owen has revealed he will not be offered a new deal at Old Trafford.

The 32-year-old arrived at Old Trafford club in July 2009 from Newcastle United.

However, injuries blighted his time at United, restricting his appearances to just 52. His last competitive game in a Reds shirt was against Otelul Galati in the group stage of the Champions League in November.

Owen said: "The manager informed me after our testimonial match on Tuesday that the club would not be offering me a new contract.

"I have loved every minute of the three years I have spent at such a fantastic club."

He went on: "I would like to thank the players, staff and fans for their support and wish them well for the future.

"I now plan to have a short holiday during which I will contemplate my next move."
