According to reports Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants Paul Scholes to play on next season.

The Daily Star claims United have offered Scholes a new 12-month deal, but the midfield ace has yet to sign it.

The 37-year-old former England star appears ready to bide his time before making a decision on his future.

Scholes dramatically came out of retirement in January to help boost United’s campaign.

However, it is unclear whether he is ready to commit to another draining Premier League and Champions League campaign.
