Manchester United defender Jonny Evans is facing the prospect of undergoing foot surgery.
The Northern Ireland centre-back was hurt in a challenge with his former teammate Darron Gibson during the dramatic 4-4 draw with Everton at Old Trafford last month.
The injury ruled Evans out of United’s last two matches against Manchester City and Swansea City.
The Daily Mail claims that United were hoping that Evans might be fit for their last game at Sunderland, but the injury has proved to be worse than first thought.
