Major rivals no longer fear Manchester United in transfer market

According to reports the top Premier League clubs are beginning to question Manchester United’s ability to compete for the world’s top players.

The Telegraph claims that the coffers may be bare this summer after United spent almost £50 million last season on Phil Jones, David de Gea and Ashley Young.

One senior figure at a leading Premier League club claimed privately last week that United had earned the condescending tag of ‘nomoney.com’ within boardrooms because of their reluctance, or inability, to compete at the top end of the transfer market in recent seasons.

United were outbid by bitter local rivals Manchester City for former Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri last summer.

It seems they are facing a similar scenario this summer as they battle the Blues for Lille ace Eden Hazard.
