Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted Dimitar Berbatov could still remain at the club.

It is understood that Berbatov's representatives are in discussion with with Lazio.

However, Ferguson said: “Nothing is settled on Berbatov. Somebody has got to make an offer for him – we won’t be letting him go for nothing, that’s for sure.

“Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Berbatov will be here next year – unless someone makes an offer we want for Dimitar. So we will still have that experience.”
