Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has banned his players from making public utterances in the wake of the derby defeat.

The Daily Express claims Ferguson has imposed a gag on his players talking about the crucial loss at Manchester City on Monday night.

United’s own TV station carried no post-match interviews, there were no tweets from Rio Ferdinand or Wayne Rooney.

In addition, Nani was banned from talking to the media at the launch of Adidas’s new Predator boot in Manchester.
