According to reports Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson singled out Chris Smalling after their defeat at Manchester City.
The Sun claims the United manager gave Smalling the hairdryer treatment after charging him with being at fault for City’s winner.
The centre-back lost Vincent Kompany in first-half injury time and the City skipper grabbed the only goal of the game to send his side top on goal difference.
Ferguson said: “If you lose a goal at a set-piece you only have yourself to blame at this level.”
