Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has conceded he faces his biggest derby during his time at the Old Trafford helm.

United relinquished a two goal lead to draw 4-4 at home to Everton while Manchester City beat Wolves away.

The results leave United three points ahead of City but with a poorer goal difference and the fate of the upcoming clash at the Etihad Stadium may well prove a title decider.

Speaking after the match, Ferguson said: "There'll be a reaction from us obviously. There's no question about that. A derby game next Monday against City would always have been a derby game of the highest proportions."

Asked if it was his most important derby to date, he replied: "Yes, definitely."
