Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was desperate to see one of Paul Scholes' efforts against Aston Villa find the net.
The evergreen 37-year-old's performance included two majestic volleys which almost brought him another sensational goal.
Asked about his near-misses Ferguson replied: "I know, I'd have loved one to go in. It would've taken the roof off the place.
“It was a great performance from Paul. He dictates the rhythm of the game and is just a fantastic player."
