Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini talks about Carlos Tevez and Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Roberto Mancini has played down reports linking his Manchester City side with AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and admitted he does not know if Carlos Tevez will remain at the Etihad Stadium.

Tevez did not play for City for six months after refusing to warm up in a Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich in September.

He eventually returned to the City squad in March claiming an assist
for Samir Nasri’s winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Chelsea.

City were eventually crowned Champions but Mancini has admitted he does not know if the Argentina striker will remain at the club.

‘Will he go away? I don't know what he plans to do, but I don't rule out surprises,’ said Mancini.

‘I took him to my house and I said: “apologise and start over”. He didn't, he wanted to leave, he escaped to Argentina and returned here only when the move to AC Milan failed.

Mancini also said he does not know if any move for Swedish striker Ibrahimovic will materialise.

‘Ibrahimovic is a great player, but I think AC Milan don't want to sell him,’ he said.

‘I'm honest: we have not yet thought about the market. In the last five weeks we thought only of the league.’
