Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has declared they are ready for Monday night’s clash with Manchester United.
City entertain their fierce local rivals at the Etihad Stadium and currently trail them by three points, but a win for Roberto Mancini’s men will hand them the advantage due to a superior goal difference.
City’s title challenge looked to have been ended by a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Easter Sunday but United have dropped five points in three games since, handing City a chance at redemption.
And Hart – who was included in the PFA’s Team of the Year - has stated they are ready for their biggest game of the season.
‘We are excited - we feel ready,’ said Hart.
‘Our title chances are certainly a lot better than they were, We are firing goals in. We are looking forward to it.’
Since the Arsenal defeat City have collected nine points from nine and scored 12 goals in the process and England’s number one believes their current good form has been key to them staying in the title race.
‘We’ve always been focused on finishing the season well and we have given ourselves a really good chance.
‘There are only a few games now. We’ve been putting this one off for a long time and people have been talking about it. But now it’s the next game and the one we are excited about.’
