Carlos Tevez set to escape Manchester City rap for Bayern snub

Carlos Tevez is unlikely to face any charge over claims he refused to play for Manchester City.

The Argentina international will face a displinary hearing later today to decide whether he did refuse to join the action during the Citizens' Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.

Roberto Mancini alleged that Tevez, who was named among the substitutes for the 2-0 reversal, would not join the action, but the striker has continued to refute those suggestions.

However it is understood the 27-year-old will be acquitted by Eastlands chiefs due to a lack of evidence from the club's coaching staff during the game at the Allianz Arena last month.

Tevez has been training alone at City's Carrington training base following a two-week suspension and Mancini's vow that he would never play for the club again.

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has backed the stance taken by Mancini on the former Old Trafford hit man, who is expected to leave east Manchester in the January transfer window.

"If it’s true Tevez refused to play, Manchester City and Mancini are dead right in the actions they have taken," he told the Manchester Evening News.

“In our days, It was a case of you all pull together and if you want to be successful, everybody has got to be together.

“If you are saying you don’t want to be on the pitch to help your team-mates out, I would say get him out of the club, it’s as easy as that.”
