Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has insisted striker Ivan Klasnic has a big future at the club.

Coyle is adamant the Croatia striker has more to offer than just being an impact player.

“He’s no super sub – Ivan played at Wigan and scored, played at Fulham and scored,” Coyle told The Bolton News.

“There have been times when our strikers have been unplayable but when we had the little dip at Christmas, at that point Ivan was injured.

“He has to keep doing what he is doing. As his manager, it's then down to me to decide if that's enough for him to force his way in past Kevin Davies, Daniel Sturridge or Johan Elmander.”

Wanderers skipper Kevin Davies reckons the Croatian is beginning to find his best form

Klasnic struck in the FA Cup win over Fulham last week.

“We see it week in, week out in training with Ivan,” Davies said of the Croatian’s winner at Craven Cottage. “That's why he's in the side – anything inside the box, he's an unbelievable finisher.

“He pounces on anything that drops in and around that area and it was a great finish against Fulham.
