Chelsea FC striker Danny Sturridge is reportedly looking at a permanent deal with Bolton Wanderers.

The Daily Star claims Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is keen to sign Sturridge long-term but it will cost him around £10 million.

He will therefore have to break the bank to land the 21-year-old who has been an instant hit at the Reebok Stadium since joining on loan in the January transfer window.

The striker is amenable to a permanent switch and has thanked Coyle for reviving his career.

He said: “I’m delighted to be playing every game and playing 90 minutes.

“The goals are coming and I’m delighted with that, so if I can continue doing what I’m doing then it’ll be a great future for myself.

“I’m trying to work hard and the manager has instilled a lot of confidence since I have been here and let me play football the way I like to play it.”

Teammate Paul Robinson also hopes the Chelsea man will stay on.

“Daniel has been different class since he came in,” Robinson told the Bolton News. “He’s been one of those finds that the gaffer has just pulled out of the bag.

“He hasn’t been given his opportunity at Chelsea, come to us, and you can’t ask any more from the lad.

“All we can do is try to keep encouraging him, like we did with Jack Wilshere last year. You’ve seen how things have gone for him recently – he’s a fantastic player and a great lad with a good head on his shoulders.

“Dan will be exactly the same. He’s a very level-headed lad who takes the advice and shows it on the pitch. He’s producing results and scoring goals, so hopefully we can get him back again next year, who knows?

“Carlo will have been watching him and he might well get his opportunity at Chelsea.”
