Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that a body discovered in a canal in Salford this morning was that of missing Stone Roses fan Christopher Brahney.
The 22-year-old's body was retrieved from Manchester Ship Canal near Media City in Salford Quays earlier today (9th July).
Brahney was last seen by friends at around 11.30pm on Friday 29th June following a Stone Roses reunion concert at Heaton Park, Manchester.
The band has issued a statement offering condolences to his family.
"We'd like to extend our sincerest condolences to Christopher's family and friends. Our thoughts are with them at this incredibly sad time," they wrote on their official Facebook page.
A post mortem examination is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
