The mother of former Coronation Street actress Denise Welch has lost her battle with cancer on her daughter's birthday.
Loose women star Denise, 53, posted a message on Twitter to announce the death of her mother, Annie, at the age of 75.
The former Coronation Street star thanked her fans for their support on behalf of her father Vin and sister Debbie.
She said: "My beloved mum Annie passed away this morning surrounded by all her family. Debbie, Dad and I thank you for your love and support xxxx"
She added: "May 22nd will always be a day to celebrate my birthday and the life of a remarkable Mum and Nanna xxxx".
Denise has two children from her marriage to Tim Healy - Matthew, 22, and 11-year old Louis.
Annie had been suffering from cancer of the soft palate for 20 years and had been treated at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
Denise also posted a tribute to her toyboy boyfriend, 39-year-old party planner Lincoln Townley.
She said: "@LincolnTownley I love you and thank you for being there for me xxx".
