Coronation Street star William Roache is hosting an evening of anecdotes, art and fundraising to help support Greater Manchester's homeless.
The one-off event will be held at Mustard Tree in Ancoats, where the MBE holder will share stories about his life and work and field questions from the audience.
Two photographs of the entire cast of Coronation Street will be auction, and a signed painting of Roache will be given away in a raffle.
The raffle runner-up will receive a commission of their choice worth up to £2000 by Manchester visual artist and Mustard Tree’s Creative Programmes Manager Graham Hudson from his acclaimed body of work Angels Vs Demons, while third prize is a piece of original artwork from one of the emerging artists at Mustard Tree's ART STUD110.
Roache became involved with Mustard Tree after being impressed by the charity's work to support vulnerable people in the region.
He said: “Here in Greater Manchester and beyond, homelessness is increasing at a disturbing rate, as is the number of 'working poor', who often find themselves having to choose between an adequate meal and heating their homes.
"This is an alarming phenomenon and there are many ways in which businesses and individuals in the region can help. I'm excited to be stimulating interest in these issues through the Mustard Tree event."
An Evening With William Roache MBE takes place on Saturday 16th March between 7:00pm and 9.45pm. Tickets are priced at £10. For more information visit http://mustardtree.eventbrite.co.uk
