Manchester student murder - 26-year-old man charged

A man has been charged following the death of 18-year-old Manchester student Kieran Crump Raiswell in Whalley Range.

Imran Akhtar Hussain, 26, of Tilehurst Lane, Bracknell, Berkshire has been charged with murder.

He has also been charged with common assault in relation to an incident in Nottingham on 4th January.

He is due to appear at Trafford Magistrates’ Court later today (24th January).

Shortly after 2.20pm on Wednesday 16th January, police were called to Upper Chorlton Road in Whalley Range following reports of a man being assaulted.

Officers attended and discovered 18-year-old Kieran Crump Raiswell with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital and sadly died from his injuries.

A post mortem examination has concluded that Kieran died from a stab wound to the chest.
