Two people have been arrested in connection with two deaths suspected to have been caused by contaminated drugs in Greater Manchester.

Police were called to Wigan Infirmary on Monday 21st January following the death of a 28-year-old man, who was admitted there after complaining of being unwell.

Investigating officers have since learnt that a 19-year-old man died at Oldham Hospital the day before after suffering similar symptoms.

The deaths are suspected to have been caused by a lethal supply of ecstasy. Post mortems on both victims are scheduled to take place later this week.

A 34-year-old man and 33-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supplying a controlled drug. They were later released on bail until March.

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 7149 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
