The family of a teenager who was murdered in Old Trafford has paid tribute to him.

Kieran Crump Raiswell, 18, died in hospital on Wednesday 16th January after being attacked by a lone offender armed with a knife at around 2.00pm on Upper Chorlton Road.

His relatives have paid the following tribute: "Kieran was our eldest son and a caring brother to his younger brother and sister.

"He was a loving grandson, nephew, cousin, friend and he was loved by all who knew him. He had his whole life ahead of him.

"He was due to go to Sheffield Hallam University in September of this year to study history.

"Kieran was a quiet, easy-going boy who loved to be at home spending time with us.

"Kieran loved to watch Manchester City and he was a season ticket holder there. As well as watching football, Kieran played for FC Bluestar between the ages of 11-18 and he also played cricket for Sale Cricket club. Kieran also helped coach at his younger brother’s football club."

Detectives are continuing to investigate the murder.

Shortly after 2.20pm on Wednesday 16th January, police were called to Upper Chorlton Road following reports of a man being assaulted.

Officers attended and discovered an 18-year-old man, now identified as Kieran, with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital and sadly died from his injuries.

The offender is described as a white teenager aged between 16 and 18. The man has not yet been formally identified.
