Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that a fourth man has been charged in connection with the murder of Mark Short in Tameside.

Ryan Hadfield, 28, from Ashton-under-Lyne has been charged with murder and three counts of attempted murder and is due in court today.

Short, 23, lost his life at the Cotton Tree Inn on Market Street on Friday 25th May when a gunman entered the premises and fired multiple shots, injuring three other men.

A Home Office post-mortem examination confirmed that Short died of a neck wound.

Several months later, the victim's father David Short was killed in a gun and grenade attack on his home in Folkestone Road East in Clayton.

Investigating officers are still hunting 29-year-old Dale Cregan, who is wanted in connection with both murders. The public have been warned not to approach Cregan, and notify officers if they sight him.

Anyone with other information in relation to the investigation is asked to call police at the Major Incident Team on 0161 856 3301 or 101, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
