Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a 15-year-old girl was raped in Greater Manchester.

The sex attack happened in Droylsden on 28th July, in the early hours of the morning.

Two men in a car approached a young girl at the bus stop near to McDonalds at Crown Point at approximately 12.50am. They asked her for the time, before demanding that she got into their vehicle.

They drove her to the Lumb Lane area of Droylsden, where one of the men raped her.

Police describe the first offender as an Asian man in his 20s, who is around 5ft 10in tall, and of skinny build with short dark hair. He wore three quarter length shorts on the night of the attack.

His accomplice is also described as an Asian man. He is about 5ft 10in tall, of medium to large build with dark spiked hair. He wore jeans and a dark coloured top.

They both spoke with a local accent.

Detective Inspector Jamie Daniels from GMP’s Serious Sexual Offences Unit said: “We have a team of officers investigating this attack and extra officers have been on patrol around the Lumb Lane and Crown Point areas following the incident to provide reassurance to people living and working there.

“We have specially trained officers supporting the young girl at what is clearly a very distressing time for her.

“This is being treated as an isolated incident and we are appealing to anyone that may have seen anything to contact police directly.

“You may think the information you have will be of little significance to police, but your information, however small, could prove invaluable to the investigation."

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 1812 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
