Worldwide Blood Drive comes to Greater Manchester

by Mark Langshaw. Published Tue 17 Jul 2012 10:33

Around 100 people in Rochdale, Bolton and Manchester will take part in the Worldwide Blood Drive this month.

The blood donation campaign is part of a worldwide initiative by the WeLoveU Foundation, a welfare charity that has carried out work in a range of areas.

The Greater Manchester leg of the scheme takes place on 25th July at the Ratcliffe Bar & Function Suite in Rochdale, Walker Memorial Hall in Bolton, and Manchester's Plymouth Grove Donor Centre.

“Every volunteer activity has a great meaning, but blood donation is much more joyful and worthwhile because we can help save lives directly.” said Zahng Gil-jah, chairwoman of the foundation.

The WeLoveU Foundation has also tackled climate change awareness, disaster relief, child welfare, and poverty with its previous campaigns.

US president Barack Obama is just one of the political leader to have recognised the efforts of the charity, awarding them with a Call-To-Service Award.
