Luke Ellison, 19, of Derbyshire Avenue in Stretford was sentenced to three and a half years at Minshull Street Crown Court after being found guilty of robbery at a previous hearing.

The incident occurred on Wednesday 9th February when Ellison ordered a cab to pick him up at his home, and told the driver to take him to a house on Gatley Avenue, Sale.

When they arrived at the location, the offender pulled a knife on the driver and demanded money. He made off with £50 and fled, leaving the driver unharmed.
