Jorgie Porter has launched the Manchester leg of Benefit Mascarathon, a charity run to help raise funding for women's domestic violence group Refuge.

The Hollyoaks star ran two miles across the city for the scheme, which was co-organsed by make-up company Benefit.

Benefit Mascarathon began in Edinburgh on 15th June, and will pass through Birmingham, Cardiff and Oxford before culminating in Spitalfields, London.

Porter isn't the only celebrity offering her support to the campaign. Caroline Flack, who is serving as its ambassador, ran the first two miles from Edinburgh.

She said: “I was thrilled to be asked to be an Ambassador for the Benefit and Refuge Mascarathon. With one woman in every four experiencing domestic violence at some point in her life, I hope the Mascarathon highlights this terrible statistic and in turn raises much needed funds for Refuge. Please join me in supporting this invaluable initiative.”

Other celebrity runners will take part as the run progresses, each tackling two miles.

Benefit Mascarathon runs until 29th June. For information on how to get involved visit www.mascarathon.co.uk
