Teenager critical after Manchester hit and run

A teenage was left in a critical condition after a hit and run collision in Moss Side, Manchester.

The incident occurred at around 7.35pm yesterday (17th June) when the victim was cycling along Princess Road, and was hit by a BMW.

He then ploughed into a lamp post, suffering serious head injuries and a broken pelvis.

The driver of the car, a 29-year-old man, failed to stop at the scene, but later turned himself in at a police station and was arrested.

He has been released on bail pending further inquiries until 25th July, while the cyclist remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
