Police are seeking a man in connection with an assault in the Oldham area of Greater Manchester.
The incident occurred inside the Mare and Foal pub on Ashton Road West, Failsworth at around 9.25pm on Monday 30th April.
A 33-year-old man was punched by another man inside the establishment in an unprovoked attack that left him unconscious. The offender then fled the scene.
Detective Constable Simon Hurdley from Oldham CID said: “Thankfully, the victim’s injuries were not too serious however, the force of the punch knocked him out and he required stitches in a wound to his face.
“The assault took place during the Manchester City and Manchester United derby and I would ask anyone who was in the pub watching the match and may have seen the attack to get in touch.
“If you recognise the image of the man, please phone police as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 8952 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
