A man has died following a house fire in the Bury area of Greater Manchester.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service informed police that a blaze had broken out house on Coomasie Street, Radcliffe, just before 1.40am on Tuesday 22nd May.

Police Officers and firefighters attended the residence and found it had suffered severe damage.

After firefighters made the area safe, officers entered the building and found a 43-year-old man unconscious inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 44-year-old woman and an eight-month-old baby girl escaped with their lives. They are receiving hospital treatment, but did not sustain any life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are working with the fire service to establish the cause of the blaze, though the case is not being treated as suspicious.
