Man killed after traffic collision

A man involved in a serious traffic collision in Gorton, Manchester has died from his injures.

The incident occurred at around 5.15pm on Thursday 17 May when a Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle and a silver Toyota Auris collided on Levenshulme Road at the Poplar Grove junction.

The motorcyclist, aged 27, was thrown from the vehicle and died in hospital over the weekend.

His pillion passenger suffered a broken jaw during the crash, but has since been discharged from hospital.

Greater Manchester Police' Serious Collision Investigation Unit(SCIU)is conducting an investigation to establish how the cause of the collision.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to call the SCIU on 0161 856 4742.
