A teenager has been assaulted during a robbery in the Manchester region.

The victim was with two friends when the incident occurred at 9pm on Friday 30th March 2012 on Circular Road, Denton in Tameside.

Two men approached the trio, with one demanding that they hand over their valuables. When the boys refused, one of them was punched in the face and had his mobile phone stolen.

Fearing they would be assaulted themselves, his companions also gave up their mobiles.

Police are seeking a Caucasian male in his late teens in connection with the incident. The suspect is of slim build, and wore a black Adidas zip-up jacket with white stripes on the arms, and gloves on the night of the incident.

Detective Constable Barbara Offord from Tameside CID said: "These two men intimidated their young victims by their size and their aggression. The boys saw their friend being punched in the face by the offender and in fear of being attacked themselves, handed over their phones.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 9248 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555. 111.
