The annual Manchester Day parade will take place this Sunday (June 10) between 2.00pm and 4.00pm.

Starting at Liverpool Street, the procession will makes its way along Deansgate to St. Mary's Gate, before heading back in the opposite direction via Cross Street.

The theme of this year's event is 'The Sky's The Limit' - a celebration of achievements in fields including science, technology, sport, music, culture, and industry.

An array of costumes, music, dance and impressive structures will grace the city centre's streets during the parade, which is expected to attract more than 2,400 participants from 90 community and social groups across Manchester.

They are expected to be greeted by more than 45,000 residents and visitors, based on spectator figurers from the previous years.

A photo competition will be held at this year's parade. Full details will be announced soon via the event's official website.

Commissioned by Manchester City Council and produced by Walk the Plank, the Manchester Day Parade is now in its third year, having been launched in 2010.
