LoveSale volunteers to give away £1000 to shoppers in Sale town centre

A group of volunteers plan to give away £1000 over two hours to shoppers in Sale, Greater Manchester, on Saturday 9th June.

The LoveSale group will distribute the money in various ways, such as paying for people's parking, buying them drinks, giving out chocolates, and handing out pound coins for trolleys.

“They say its better to give than to receive and we’ve certainly found that to be the case.” said Ben Dean, one of the groups organisers.

“The reaction when you’re stood in line and offer to pay for someone’s coffee is priceless. People are genuinely shocked, perhaps thinking you’ve mistaken them for someone else but pleasantly surprised when they discover they are in fact the intended recipient of this gift.

“Sale is a great place to live and we want to do our part to contribute to the community spirit here.”

This is the fifth scheme of its kind organised by the LoveSale group. For this year's event, the organisers have teamed up with the Sale Town Partnership, who will hold their annual summertime sounds event on the same day.

“We just want to let people know that they are loved, that people care about them, that there are good people out there. We have many young people involved in our projects and it's such a great experience for them and sends a great message to the public who may have an inaccurate view of today's young people”

This year's LoveSale event will take place between 12pm and 2pm on 9th June. By the end of the day, the organisation will have given away a combined total of £3500.

More generosity days and various community clean up projects are scheduled to take place in the future.
