Popular food writer, presenter and campaigner Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall will be cooking and chatting with visitors at the Manchester Food & Drink Festival tomorrow.
A fierce advocate of local, seasonal and ethically sourced food, Hugh stirred up controversy this week with his declaration that eating puppy meat is no more morally objectionable than tucking into a pork chop. Having made his name on Channel 4's River Cottage, which followed his attempts to live and feed his family sustainably in rural Dorset, he was a key part of the Big Food Fight, passionately championing the welfare of chickens and taking on supermarket giant Tesco in the process.
Hugh will be at the Manchester Food & Drink Festival Hub on Albert Square on Friday 14th October at 1pm and will follow a cooking demonstration with a public Q&A session. Lunchtime refreshments will also be served. The event has limited spaces, with tickets available from £13.75 (including booking fee) via www.foodanddrinkfestival.com
