University of Salford seeks artists in residence

The University of Salford is looking to appoint four artists in residence as part of a year-long initiative.

Participating visual artists and designer makers will be granted access to the School of Art & Design’s facilities to work on a project or conduct research.

The scheme is part of the Artists Access to Art Colleges (AA2A) initiative, which was launched to offer residencies in 32 further and higher education institutions across England.

Salford has been involved in AA2A for several years. Its current artists in residence are Lowri Evans, Claire Weetman, Jonathan Maj and Jessica Longmore.

Kit Turner, the University’s AA2A administrator, said: "The AA2A scheme gives up and coming artists access to some fantastic resources here at the University. These include visual and graphic art studios, digital technologies and installation spaces across the campus, including our facilities at MediaCityUK."

The University of Salford is accepting applications for the posts between now and 5pm Monday 3 September. For more information on how to apply visit http://www.aa2a.org/apply
