A exclusive business group has been launched by Cheshire businessman Fred Stone at Salford City Stadium.

More than 70 successful entrepreneurs and high-net worth individuals from across the region attended the first inaugural meeting of the K-Club.

Stone hailed the launch event as a success, predicting that attendees will return for future meetings to network with like-minded executives.

He said: “I predict that our quarterly meetings will become an important and permanent fixture for those business owners who want to keep in touch with their fellow entrepreneurs but who have rejected business networking clubs that are increasingly sales focused.”

Key players in the business community from from Manchester, Liverpool and Lancashire breakfasted together before listening to speeches from Search and social media expert Elizabeth Clark of Dream Agility, and tax specialist Brian Wood of Corinthian Tax LLP.

Guest Martin Lewis, managing director of Rossendale-based manufacturing and maintenance company Beta Group said: “I think the concept is excellent. The K-Club was described to me as the Premier League of business clubs and I would say that the calibre of businesses there today supports that description.”

Another attendee, David Griffiths, a director of document management specialists The Sharples Group expressed interest in returning for future meetings.

“It was a very well organised event which attracted some major players from a wide selection of business,” he said. “Future meetings will be a must for me.”

Stone admitted that the first K-Club meeting "exceeded expectations" and added that the initiative will "encourage co-operation between some of the best business brains in the region" in the future.
